|These headphones have some differences compare with the main course of development of the MyST isodynamic headphones.|
First, this model has a high sensitivity. It is quite suitable for working not only with a full-fledged stationary amplifier, but also with portable Hi-Fi players.
There are some differs in design of Izo-7 compare with previous models. The Izo-7 has a completely updated membrane, different wiring pattern and thickness of conductive paths. Namely, Izo-7 has a new speaker and it is not a simple offshoot of previous models.
It is logical that the engineering changes entailed changes in sound. The sound is also very differs in character from all previous models.
As for character, the sound of Izo-7 differs from all previous models by softer and in tonal a little bit more smooth, perhaps more relaxed style of sounding. This model is not so “angry” or “aggressive” as other models, but generally more “accurate” and “restrained”.
The differences are most visibly at low frequencies (LF). LF’s have more rounded, may be slightly soft style of sounding. LF are thick, dense, have a good mass. Аt the same time, there are no problems with a mumbling or buzzing, and there are no daubs, despite the roundness and softness.
Quantitatively, LF’s are more pronounced than in previous models, but they are inferior in whip and shock. It may have not enough aggression in the sound of Izo-7 for fans of heavy metal or aggressive music. It should be better to compare the new model with previous ones if you are true fan of heavy metal.
We think that experts of the isodynamic headphones theme will note a relative similarity by the style of LF to models like Audeze or the latest from Hifiman.
About the same thing can be said about medium frequencies (MF) and high frequencies (HF). They are not so “sharply” or “aggressive” (compared with the previous models), more calm. The MF-HF range looks smoother and tonal balanced. We can say that on MF-HF range, the headphones are rather restrained and extremely “neutral”.
It’s useful to note, that Izo-7 superior the previous models and competitors in terms of resolution and detail of the interlude (despite of the generally calmer style at MF and HF). Moreover, it may seem that there is even a definite advantage in HF compared to models like Izo-60 (due to the lighter style and the lack of a common whip “aggressive” style).
Summarizing all the above, it’s important to note: Izo-7 have a “calm”, balanced sound, some softness at LF range, high resolution and excellent balance, especially in the MF-HF range. If you always thought that previous models like Izo-30 or Izo-60 have too "fast" and aggressive style of sounding, then you should listen Izo-7 instead.
